David Stern attended New York University's film program. He has worked in the commercial industry from boutique production
companies to large firms including Daniel J. Edelman Public Relations and BATV, a business news magazine program for ABC.
As an independent filmmaker, he wrote several screenplays, and has produced, directed, and edited over a dozen short films and
documentaries. For his 30-minute film, Suite Harry, he received the CINE Golden Eagle and IAC London International Film Festival's
Gold Seal awards. His short, In a Word, opened the MetroFest Film Festival at the Detroit Institute of the Arts. Following his
first feature film, Loopholes, David wrote, directed, produced, and edited Dead Giveaway, a noir-styled feature shot in six
days (available on Netflix.com).
David holds the position of Director of Digital Media at Imagination Stage in Bethesda
Maryland, where he produces video content from commercials to promos to specialty projects such as The Garden Wall, a DVD that
accompanies the published children's book of the same name. Recently, David produced, shot, and edited Playing From the Heart, a
full length play originally staged in the Christopher Reeve Theatre (available on DVD). He has taught film production to all ages,
from college students at George Washington University, to teenagers at Imagination Stage, where he also developed the entire film
program and curriculum.
